Changing Young Lives supports young people with disabilities to speak up for themselves to be treated as equal citizens and have equal rights.
Young Voices
The Young Voices is a network made up of 150 young people aged between 8-25 years in Sandwell schools, including The Meadows, St. Michaels and Westminster.
Young leaders, who represent the network, meet every 2 months to raise the issues affecting the lives of young people with disabilities and more importantly have lots of fun. We have a Young People's Forum once a year where the whole Network gets together. We also meet at other times to work on projects.

My Life My Dreams group
Issy Brant co-chairs this group with Janine Brown, Director of Commisioning for Sandwell. This group is shaping the new Whole of Life service.
The Rights Squad
Our training team 'The Rights Squad' is led by young people with disabilities. We develop and lead training sessions which teach people how to communicate and work with young people with disabilities. Last year we trained 500 young people in mainstream schools so they could understand more about what it is like to have a disability. This year we are also training teachers, special education needs coordinators and classroom assistants.
The Quality Crew
The Quality Crew is a team of trained young people who check the quality of a range of services and individualised supports to make sure they are young people friendly and offer good quality of life experiences.
