How you can help?

We’re always on the look out for aspirational people who think that disabled people should lead an ordinary life, seen and valued as part of their community. Our volunteers are the face of Changing Our Lives in the local community. Their commitment helps us shape policy and practice to make change happen for disabled people of all ages.

Some volunteer as MPs with People’s Parliament, others may support Changing Young Lives or our Quality of Life work.  Some lead on innovative projects such as Rights For All. We also need volunteers for marketing and publicity projects.  We also need volunteers from time to time for specific marketing and publicity projects, or for events.

A big part of our volunteer pathway is leadership development. We identify new leaders who not only share our values, but will lead others by example and live their own lives as independently as possible. Changing Our Lives will provide relevant training to develop leadership skills so you can change hearts and minds and work with us to begin to build a more inclusive and equal society.

All of our volunteers are vital to what we do and we want them to be as proud of Changing Our Lives as we are.
