We currently have two job vacancies.

Do you have a minimum of 2 years experience of working with people with mental health needs and could be part of a vibrant, forward thinking team? As Mental Health Officer you will support people with mental health needs to co-produce a range of rights based initiatives.  This could be:
• Working on the Black Country Mental Health People's Parliament.
• Co-facilitating Patient Councils in range of inpatient mental health settings, including low secure and acute mental health hospitals.
• Working with people with mental health needs and/or disabilities to lead a range of Quality of Health audits in a range of mental health settings.

Changing Our Lives supports people with disabilities of all ages across the West Midlands to speak up for their rights and take control of their lives. We are looking for a part-time Development Officer who is both experienced, enthusiastic and committed.  You must have a minimum of 2 years experience of working with people with disabilities or other disadvantaged groups and be able to demonstrate experience working with community, voluntary or statutory organisations. Your role will be to develop projects and work with people to secure their rights, so excellent communication and project management skills are also a must.

Our volunteers are the face of Changing Our Lives in the local community. Their commitment helps us shape local and national policy to make change happen for people with disabilities of all ages. We currently have volunteers working across the West Midlands and sometimes further! Some volunteer as MPs in People’s Parliament, some work on mental health projects, others may support Changing Young Lives or our Quality of Life work. All of them are vital to what we do. If you’d like more information about a specific role, or ways to get involved, then get in touch.

We are currently looking for outstanding volunteers that can help us in the following roles:

Multi-Media Technician

Are you creative and good with IT?  The Multi-Media Technician will support the Multi-Media Development Officer with the design, update and maintenance of websites and electronic mailshots.  We would like a Volunteer to help produce visually compelling publicity which captures our positive, outcome driven work ethos in a creative and innovative way, using up-to-date software and technology.  This role is key to supporting our publicity, marketing and events.

Community Fundraising

This is a great opportunity to be involved in a wide range of new challenges, where you will be stretched to reach your highest capabilities. We are seeking an enthusiastic fundraising volunteer, to establish links in our local community and lead fundraising projects, all the time raising the profile of Changing Our Llves. This role is an ideal for anyone looking to get valuable work experience in charity fundraising.   You will highlight current issues for people with disabilities.  Training, parliaments, mental health, audits, art, dance, it’s all here. Were looking to appoint a Community Funding Officer to work alongside our Project Development Officers.
