We know that an ordinary life is achievable for anyone with the right support. Our person-centred planning approach rests on this belief; it puts the individual and an ordinary life at the heart of the planning process and enables people to move towards a future that is meaningful to them and is their right to live. This training explores a range of tools and approaches that are essential to gather a rich body of evidence in developing a person centred plan.

Working in this way has been fantastic and an eye opener for us: really getting to know someone, rather than just focussing on a list of needs to be met by a set menu of service solutions, opens up a whole range of options and possibilities that leads to imaginative and creative thinking about how the young person can be supported to develop their independence, achieve their goals and have better lives.”
