Event Management Volunteer Summary of the role Works closely with the Changing Our Lives team to plan, organise and advertise dynamic events for the charity. Responsibilities and duties Work alongside the Changing Our Lives team to design and plan events. Use social media, local radio, TV, website, newspapers to advertise the event and to reach a large audience. Develop creative and original ideas for events. Work to budgets. Research venues, contacts and suppliers. Negotiate prices with suppliers and contractors and donations if applicable. Book venues, entertainment, equipment and supplies and ensuring these are fit for purpose. Coordinate event set up and entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers Anticipate and plan for different scenarios Create sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events, including possessing a strong working knowledge of the charity to further these opportunities. Ensure that health, safety and insurance regulations are followed. Work to the values of Changing Our Lives. Qualifications and Skills Preferably event management experience or newly qualified in degree in event management or marketing. Excellent organisational skills. Excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure, balancing different priorities. Attention to Detail Able to use Word and Excel confidently.
